Ear candling, Ear Coning,
or
Thermal Auricular Therapy
is an
ancient art used to deep clean imbedded earwax from the ear canal. |
This is
a safe and effective procedure that can be performed on young and old
alike. |
Native Americans and other cultures used
ear candling with clay cones in conjunction with herbs and medicinal oils. |
Used in spiritual ceremonies and rituals, Candling was believed to cleanse the senses. |
This is a recognized procedure in Europe and Germany. |
Ear candles, or cones, are made from
paraffin, beeswax, or soy, and cotton, muslin, linen, or hemp. |
Candles are disposed of after use. |
The candles
are about 9-12 inches long . |
The pointed end is put in the ear and the
other end is lit. |
The candles are tapered and hollow and when the smoke
and heat travel through the candle into the ear canal, the wax is softened
and more easily drains out of the ear with natural movement of the head. |
Ear candling is great for allergy sufferers, sinus
congestion, and promotes better hearing, taste and smell. |
Candling may benefit tinnitus and improve hearing.
